“The Middlesex-London Health Unit of London, Ontario has launched an online game designed to educate teens and young adults on the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

“Adventures in Sex City will have players assume the role of one of four characters—Captain Condom, Power Pap, Willy the Kid or Wonder Vag—as they take on penis-armed (literally) villain the Sperminator, who is hell-bent on spreading his brand of STD-infected love to everyone in town.”

The dispute between these two and Twin Galaxies, the corrupt-as-fuck nerd lair that keeps record of classic video game high scores, is chronicled in the 2007 doc “The King of Kong“. For the record, WTPWB backs Weibe, if for no other reason than — on film at least — Billy Mitchell and Twin Galaxies founder Walter Day seem like huge d-bags.

Remember that kid in grade school — one who comes to mind in my life was named Matt, now the assistant women’s soccer coach at a college nobody’s ever heard of — who would tell you things, and then when you asked for the most basic verification, make up some weird story about it? That’s sort of like Courtney. Except shes an adult. And a whoooore.

Maybe it started the first time she said “I’m in a decent band,” and became something of a lifestyle once people started believing it. Anyway, according to pretty good sources — for example, the people who make Guitar Hero — she was not only aware, but more or less instrumental, in the thing:

Bad as it is that an image of Kurt Cobain will be used to, among other things, “Rock his way through Bon Jovi’s ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’”, I think the thing we’d all like to know is, Courtney, Jesus, whats with all the rape talk? As difficult it is to forgive Grohl for the whole Foo Fighters thing, I’m not sure it warrants putting something up near his asshole. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I think of myself as something of a pinball revisionist — I started my career on a high-tech, faux-holographic Star Wars Episode I machine in Milwaukee. While a part of me wishes pinball-nouveau had taken off (the last time I saw a Star Wars pinball machine was at the Greyhound terminal in Washington, DC, half-broken, dirty, abused and neglected), I’ve come to appreciate the purity of the classic style.

Surely he’ll get to these eventually, but two places not mentioned where you can fulfill your flipper fancy are Tommy’s in Greenpoint, whose table is in really good shape, and, of course, Barcade.

(minor) UPDATE: The Great Pumpkin moved to his own domain. He also visited Tommy’s, which turns out to be a Wheel of Fortune machine, but he didn’t seem to have as good an experience there as we did (or, at least, we think we did. Maybe it was the beer talking), so approach that one with caution. Oh we’re also no longer sure if they have pinball at Barcade. That was probably the beer talking, too. Accuracy fail.
