Its back to school for the kids, which for New York public school students means a game of Russian Roulette with an unrelenting opponent: swine flu. At IS 238, teachers are really cranking the heat on students like Ty Coleman, pictured left:
Coleman: When you sneeze, sneeze (motions) like this, and don’t cough on anybody. Reporter: And wash your hands a lot. Coleman: Yeah … they really on me on this.
We’re assuming that “they” are lead by Principal Joseph Gates, who under more relaxed circumstances we might encourage to lighten up a little, but Gates is clearly feeling the H1N1 squeeze himself: last year, he lost his assistant principal, Mitchell Wiener, who was New York’s first swine flu victim.
