Dov Charney: all kinds of sad.

060728_charney_vsml_10a.vsmallAmerican Apparel CEO Dov Charney is very, very sad that he was forced to fire 1,600 of his employees for “immigration problems”

Here he goes all boo hoo:

“I just cry when I think that so many people will be leaving the company… It is my belief that immigrants bring prosperity to any economy.”

Yeah, probably, Dov, but it is kind of what happens when you’re lax about hiring undocumented workers. Not that we mind that in particular (Julio, could you bring me another beer PLEASE), but, come on man, are you sure creating dependence around your particular company — the same one that got sued by Woody Allen, the same one that has recently had to pull another advertisement because of kiddie-porn allegations, the one with the perv CEO — is a good idea?
